Back to Basics goes right back to the golden sounds of the Roaring Twenties and follows the musical trail to the modern jazz scene. Roam through the styles of swing, latin, bossa and fusion from classic (In the Mood, There Will Never Be Another You) to modern renditions of famous jazz songs (Me and Mrs. Jones). Celebrate the jazz fireworks by Chet Baker, Glenn Miller and other significant musicians and crooners who shape jazz into what it is today.
As the song goes, it don’t mean a thing if it ain’t got that swing. Life just can’t go on without the groove of jazz!

Hey, hope everyone is enjoying the hols, especially for the freshies who are having fun at faculty orientation camps! It is exhilarating to meet new peeps in university, as well as discovering new clubs, societies and groups where you can explore your interest.
During your camp, some of you may be interested in joining NUS Jazz Band after receiving our brochure and wish to attend the welcome tea. Well, due to the stars and the skies and the fireflies, the timing and location details of the Welcome Tea on the brochure are now changed to:

Hope everyone is having a great vacation! The NUS Jazz Band is pretty busy this summer season with a whole line of gigs waiting for us. But it ain’t no holiday if there ain’t some great jazzing!
